High Level Stakeholder Meeting on Establishment of National Emergency Medical Team

On 18 November, 2021 High Level Stakeholder Meeting on Establishment of National Emergency Medical Team was organized by WHO office in Armenia. The aim of the meeting was to create clear understanding about EMT initiative among all stakeholders, existing and potential partners, identify existing national capacities for development of EMT at MoH and MES levels and agree on the distribution of roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders. 

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health of Armenia, Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Head of EU Delegation in Armenia, Head of the Department of International Affairs of MoH of Armenia, Head of the Division of Emergency Situations and Preparedness Mobilization of MoH of Armenia, Head of the Department of Medical Care of MoES of Armenia, as well as the representatives of EMT Secretariat and ASB Georgia. As a result of the meeting, a scoping document describing roles and responsibilities of all engaged stakeholders was endorsed and signed by MoH, MES, WHO and ASB representatives. In addition, Needs Assessment conducted by ASB Georgia was presented at the meeting in order to discuss the process of establishment and effective functioning of EMT Armenia. The scoping document includes roadmap which is developed based on EMT Armenia Action Plan developed as a result of workshop conducted through the project on 28-29 October 2021 and incorporates all major steps that need to be implemented for establishment and functioning of EMT.
