The 7th European Civil Protection Forum took place in Brussels on 28-29 June 2022. The Forum guests included the main actors working in the sphere of European Civil Protection: representatives from the civil protection and disaster management community, governments, national, local, regional civil protection authorities, EU institutions, the private sector, the scientific communities, experts, international partner organisation, first responders and various other stakeholders.
The objectives of the European Civil Protection Forum 2022 were the following:
- To provide a space for discussion between all actors of the UCPM around some key operational and policy questions to feed the future development of the UCPM
- To trigger innovative thinking and create new ideas in the sphere of civil protection and disaster risk management, including cross-sectoral coordination at EU level and closer collaboration with neighbourhood and third countries
- To facilitate networking, mutual learning and cooperation for a wide range of stakeholders involved in disaster risk management. This will also require the participation of other closely-related sectors in the project team participated in the plenary sessions and the following workshops organized on strengthening climate resilience and Europe in the World – reaching beyond geographical boundaries.
The project participated also in the exhibition that was arranged within the scopes of the Forum. Namely, the Georgian and Armenian EMTs as the valuable resources to strengthen cross-border health emergencies, disaster coordination, preparedness and cross-border planning was introduced through using the different visibility materials prepared specifically for the event.
