5th EMT Global Meeting
The 5th EMT global meeting was conducted on 5-7 October 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia. The main goal of the global meeting was to develop EMT 2030 strategy identifying the milestones that strengthen National EMT capacities as part of the global health emergency preparedness, response, and resilience (HEPR) architecture.
The 5th global meeting represented the excellent opportunity for Georgian and Armenian EMTs for networking, participating in strategic meetings and bilateral discussions, attending presentations made by EMTs from different countries on rehabilitation in emergencies, mass casualty settings, complex humanitarian responses, responding to COVI19 pandemic responses, EMT capacity building frameworks, information management systems in emergency response, innovational solution in EMT operational management, specialized care teams in emergencies and global classification process. The presentations covered key areas relevant to EMTs including clinical/operational support, training, coordination, field operations and policy. The project participated also in the exhibition that was arranged within the scopes of the meeting.
In total, over 500 participants from over 100 countries and organizations participated in the meeting. As a result of the meeting, milestones for a longer EMT strategy – EMT 2030 were defined.
